Nachwendekinder (2022-2024)

Nachwendekinder is an interdisciplinary laboratory and networking project, initiated by the filmmaker Luisa Bäde. Seven artists from different disciplines such as theatre, documentary film, media art and dance - created a workshop concept for people from the generation of the Nachwendekinder (born in-between 1987-1997 and socialized in East-Germany). The workshop aims to create a space for an exchange and self reflection of the experiences of upheaval in their own biographies or the biographies of their families caused by the Wende. Using artistic methods the participants and the artists are elaborating their past, present and future to explore which potential and which questions for the future can be found in this identification with the term of Nachwendekind.

From this project the group founded the Netzwerk Nachwendekinder, which organizes different artistic projects aiming for visibility and representation for the Nachwendekinder.
